Is there a point to reading all 12 pages, or should I chalk it up to the ramblings of a lunatic and move on?

THE GOOD NEWS WILL BE POSTED LATER TODAY!!!!!
by EndofMysteries ina video will be posted later today where all the mysteries of god, the disgusting thing causing desolation, all the contradictions in the bible, why god in the old testament seemed so cruel, why was satan created if god is good, how is god love?
all of the prophecies jesus had foretold which were hidden and lost yet being fullfilled the entire time.

Long time Lurker, ready to join in...
by Blackbird Singing inhi all, i'm a long time lurker, ready to join in and add my two cents worth now and then!
i was in the religion for 25 years, out now for 8, along with my husband, daughter, and son!
i would have to say pretty much the whole time i was in i didnt want to be, pretty much "dreaded" all aspects of it, meetings, service, assemblies, and talks, i hated talks, man o man would i be grouchy the whole week i had a scheduled talk.. we didnt have much family in, but lots of friends and many jw employees, pretty much lost all that, down to just one jw employee left(thats a good thing).

Welcome blackbird!
Also threatened that if they said my sons name in a 'local needs" part about defiant teenagers(he was only 13) that I would be contacting my attorney
That gets a big from me. Unfortunately you wont be able to stop them from gossiping about you and your family. But at least you put them on notice.

No wonder it's iron and clay mixed...
by konceptual99 inhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-19929249.
i really didn't realise that words like "row" and "frock" are not common in the us.. glad to see "autumn", "queue", "numpty", "muppet" making a splash over there.. even "chav" and "innit" are being used apparently.. hey all you irish/scottish/welsh/english posters, what other words should our friends over the water be using?.
wassock, fathead, plonker are three off the top of my head..

Same as it's always been- How to spin doctrine in order to keep the next generation entrenched. It's about survival.

Whenever I drink tea, I always make sure to have a 'spot' of it.
Incidentally, 'spotted' and 'dick' are two words that should never be used together.

Why Russell could not have been the faithful and discreet slave (from the standpoint of JW belief)
by JWB inwhy russell could not have been the faithful and discreet slave (from the standpoint of jw belief).
this thread was started in order to answer a question raised elsewhere about russell being the faithful and wise servant (aka fds).. .
the reason russell was originally considered the fds was that he taught 1874 as being the start of the parousia, with 1878 as the time that jesus began to reign proper.

Whether or not he was is actually beside the point. The fact of the matter is that he proclaimed himself to be. Either he really was, which makes their current understanding wrong, or he was proclaiming it falsely, which begs the question- why would Jesus have approved them in 1919, after they had shown themselves to be false prophets? This is a conundrum they have never been able to solve, no matter how much 'new light' they come up with.

I am thinking of becoming a JW and am just needing some advice on how to do this, bible study and JW beliefs.
My advice, as with any other religious group, would be to research them thoroughly, using sources outside their publications. This is especially prudent with JWs. They aren't a religion you can commit partially to. If you are going to make the level of commitment that JWs demand of its members it would serve you to learn as much you can about them. You won't get the full picture from simply studying with them, and attending a few meetings.
